J. Cole has had the week quite the summer and summer’s just started! Fresh off the high of his much anticipated release K.O.D., J Cole announced a music festival, Dreamville, to be held here in Raleigh, NC on Sept 15th. There was an immediate excitement around the speculation of who would be named for the line up and when. Given the artistry of J Cole himself, expectations are already pretty high for the caliber of musicians suspected to be in attendance. As if he’s not winning enough, Live Nation recently acquired a majority stake in Scoremore Shows, an Austin-based concert promotion company. Co-founded by Claire Bogle and Sascha Stone Guttfreud, Scoremore are best known for the Dallas and Austin based festival JMBYLA, that has created a reputation for having a solid hip hop line up each year. Scoremore has had a steady working relationship with J Cole and are the company in partnership with Dreamville Records, ensuring the event would be as successful as their own festivals. Adding the music event powerhouse Live Nation to the fold has pretty much solidified that J Cole will be winning into the fall season as well. To date the only artist announced has been Young Thug with hopefully more to come by July. You can purchase your tickets in advance here!
